thoughts on YG's 'Winner' Finale

• i'm happy Team A won
• but their performances today were just so-so
• 'just another boy' was a pretty shit song to begin with so good on Team B for making it passable
• taehyun i love you boy but you needa control your breathing its making the song sound ratchet
• the dance battle holy hell did Team A win that one
• i mean, Team B you're great dancers and all but everytime you pull out your hip hop swag routine it all feels like the same shit and that's not what you should have done in the finale (part of me believes this is down to lack of choreographing talent and youth)
• but seunghoon i was seriously not expecting THAT
• honestly in-fucking-credible, the best dance routine in the entire show; seunghoon doesn't get enough credit for his talents in choreographing

• as for the self-composition...
• Team B i really have to give you credit for using those shrill-ass vocals to your advantage
• but junhwe man you really stepped it up tonight; your tone is so nice to listen to and you have such great control, why aren't you main vocal????
• jinhwan i know yg likes you and that's probably why you're main vocal but PLZ singing lessons from junhwe
• the other two (dongguk and yonghyun??? idk) you guys are ok i guess but i can't shake the feeling that you're more like backup dancers rather than part of the group
• i'm probably in the minority here, but i was uncomfortable with bi's literal spotlight (i've talked about him being metaphorically in the spotlight but it actually happened in this ep so lol)
• you're the leader, yes, you're yg's golden boy, yes, your lyrics were apparently amazing, yes, but what makes you so special that you have to quite literally outshine all the other members?
• i don't care if it was a group decision or whatever, the fact remains that every single member should be acknowledged (something Team A manages to do), rather than just one person
• ^ reasons why i don't think Team B is as great of a 'team' as everyone else proclaims
• still it was a great song and i'm pleasantly surprised but honestly they need to cut some of that dead weight
• Team A...i love you guys, but PLZ singer line, work on your breathing

• bang yedam, akdong musician and lee hi, i love you guys all so much and i loved your rendition of 'officially missing you'
• yedam has improved soo much i actually like him now
• akdong pls debut asap
• lee hi, stay flawless
• the vocals of yg's next generation are stunning i'm so happy
• i wasn't too surprised with the winner; i don't know if i agree with comments that the program was geared towards team a winning, but i do think that it was engineered to garner sympathy for team a in its beginning stages
• but URGH mino and seungyoon crying and seunghoon hugging bi made me tear up a bit
• you can really see what people are like in moments of victory and defeat
• Team A comes across as truly grateful and humble, in particular seunghoon; i hope you guys stay this way
• Team B, it was weird seeing them cry (they're normally more confident and upbeat) but if i wasn't sure of their passion before, i am now
• they'll never read this, but just remember: you have youth on your side, and i'm sure YG will debut you sooner or later (most of you at least), he'd be an idiot not to
• don't get down, just keep working hard
• as for some B fans who leave hate...grow up; it's ok to think your team was better, you don't need to drag down others just to prove that point
• Team A...this will just be a flurry of emotions so be warned
• at the beginning, they were the underdogs; messy dancing, singing...just a mess in general
• mino came in as leader and as much as i love the kid, he didn't really do much
• they were a more organised mess, but damn still a mess
• i'm so glad seungyoon got appointed as leader; there's something about him that makes the whole team work well together
• looking back, i think the only thing Team A was lacking was teamwork; every member had a different vibe (yes, amanda i just said vibe) that needed to be meshed together and i think the moment they finally managed to do that was the moment they won this competition
• when i look at Team A, i see Big Bang in their first few years of debut; compared to the rest of the boy groups in 2007/08, they were something different, and because of that, they stood out
• i don't know whether Team A will reach the same success as Big Bang, but i do know that they can work as a team now, with a sound that's not like many other groups
• congratulations Team A, and may you continue to 'go up'

side note:

• i doubt yg would make them change their slightly pop-rock style, but i hope it doesn't happen
• hopefully they can keep their sound as it is
• yg has been doing the swag concept for years, and most of the time, they do it well
• but it tires easily and other boy groups have also been doing it and doing it better
• Team B, bless their little hearts, could just not compete with BAP vocally
• in that respect, i'm glad that YG has managed to branch out its style of music
• signing lee hi and akdong musician brought a new flavour to the company and i couldn't be happier
• if yg kept rolling out flop singles like 'the baddest female'...like no. pls no
• seungri was lookin fine...and he was so sweet i love you :')
